The project involved the strip out and complete refurbishment of a Grade II* listed building dating from the early 18th Century, in the heart of St James’, London; for use as an Embassy and Consulate.

WPA were involved at the outset, from assisting the client in identifying and procuring the site to obtaining all the necessary Planning, Listed Building and Building Regulations consents to develop a new facility for the Government of Cyprus.

Careful planning and imaginative design enabled a range of historic and architecturally significant spaces to accommodate new uses, fully meeting the Clients spatial, functional and security requirements.

Discreet integration of services, communications and systems within the historic fabric were key challenges. High levels of physical and electronic security were incorporated.

WPA were lead consultants throughout; co-ordinating a full sub-consultant specialist team reporting direct to the Cypriot Ministry of Works.
